MTN, Africa's largest mobile network operator, and ZTE, a leading Chinese telecom equipment provider, have upgraded 5G infrastructure at Mossel Bay, South Africa.

The upgrade has created the first long-distance offshore 5G coverage in Africa, extending up to 22 km from land.
