Chilean reporter Maria Sanhueza said China's cooperation with Africa sets an example for partners in the Global South, after hearing President Xi Jinping's keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). Sanhueza believes that Latin America shares a similar condition with most African countries and hopes her country could expand ties with the world's second-largest economy. CGTN reporter Li Zhao also caught up with reporters from Morocco and Indonesia at the summit's media center as they reflected on Xi's speech.
