A Chinese envoy to the United Nations has stated that peace between Palestine and Israel requires ending Israel's occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
Geng Shuang made the remarks at a UN meeting on implementing Resolution 2334, which demands Israel halt settlement activities in occupied Palestinian territories.
